For the shooting/warm-up drills Goalies should be wearing their mask, jockstrap, and some sort of soft knee pad, not their shin pads.
Have shooter(s) start at 3/4 speed to allow goaltender to make sure they’re prepared to “FEEL” the weight of the soft ball.
IF it’s too much for a young goalie, these drills can done in full padding as well.
**Please note that doing these drills without the gear is far more beneficial and will exponentially develop their ball-stopping and rebound directing skills.
In this drill you can practice your steps as you move across the arc by directing the shooters to aim for certain spots each round (high stick side, low stick side, high glove, low glove, five-hole, bounce shots, etc, etc )
“If you can see it, you can save it.”
